Compensation of phase distortions in a single-transit wavefront-reversal system with a degenerate four-photon interaction

Abstract: A proposal is made for a system designed to compensate phase distortions in a wavefront-reversal system in which some part of the signal radiation is deflected to pass through a spatial frequency filter and then acts as the pump; the remainder of such radiation acts as the signal. It is shown that a suitable selection of the pass band of the filter can ensure compensation of large-scale phase inhomogeneities in the system and can enable reconstruction of a small-scale structure of an object.
