Fabrication and studies of low-loss fiber waveguides with polymer coatings solidified by ultraviolet radiation

Abstract: Low-loss fiber waveguides with ultraviolet-solidified polymer coatings were fabricated. A study was made of the influence of temperature and of ultraviolet radiation on the losses in these waveguides. The mechanical strength was also determined.
