Abstract:
A narrow-band picosecond parametric oscillator was constructed. Radiation from a GaAs semiconductor laser was injected into this oscillator and it was pumped by 40 psec pulses of the second harmonic of a garnet laser. The output was in the form of picosecond pulses which were frequency-tunable near the signal λ s = 0.85 μ and idler λ i = 1.4 μ wavelengths. The pulses were nearly bandwidth-limited with Δ ν = 0.6 cm–1 and with an energy of 50 μJ.
