Utilization of the sharpness function in compensation of phase distortions

A theoretical study is made of the possibility of maximization of the sharpness function in a specific adaptive system. It is shown that the known maximization methods produce local maxima which do not satisfy the requirement of a system for compensation of phase distortions.
