Lasing properties of some aromatic and heteroaromatic molecules in pure vapors

Abstract: Pumping with XeCl* laser radiation (at a wavelength of 308 nm) was used to study lasing of molecules of several complex organic compounds in the form of pure vapors. Stimulated emission from PPF, PBD, BBD, and para-methoxy-PPD molecules was observed for the first time. Measurements were made of the dependence of the lasing output energy on the pump radiation energy. The energy efficiency of lasing of pure PPF vapor was found to be several times higher than the corresponding efficiencies for p-QP and POPOP.
