Abstract:
A description is given of a generator of high-power ultrashort pulses of ultraviolet radiation of ~30 psec duration and ~10 mJ energy at λ = 0.308 μ. These pulses are generated by amplification in an excimer (XeCl) amplifier of the second harmonic of a dye laser pumped synchronously by a train of picosecond pulses representing the second harmonic of a YAlO3:Nd3+ laser with passive mode locking.
