Abstract:
The task of improving the resolutions of optical systems in a randomly inhomogeneous medium is examined. A method proposed for this task involves plotting the square of the modulus of the coherence function for radiation reflected from a rough surface when various functions of the receiving system are transferred to the transmitting system. This method was used to determine angular dimensions of reflectors of ~ 1" using a receiving system having a resolution of ~ 1'. The results show good agreement with the theory.
