Conditions for the appearance of a negative image in an optical signal amplifier

A study is made of the characteristics of wavefront reversal in a resonantly amplifying medium. The region of the effective interaction between waves is of finite size and the phase relationships between the constant and alternating components of the resultant signal influence the signal increment.
