Formation of an adaptive-mirror reflecting surface conjugate to wavefront distortions

Experimental and theoretical investigations are reported of the response function of a deformable adaptive mirror. The operation of this mirror is described using a model of a thin plate. A numerical modeling is made of the formation, by this adaptive mirror, of surfaces conjugate to primary wavefront aberrations.
