Investigation of an XeF laser pumped by gamma radiation from a nuclear explosion

Abstract: Experimental and theoretical investigations were made of an XeF laser pumped by a travelling ionising wave originating from a nuclear explosion. The results indicated that an efficiency, in terms of the input energy, could reach  — 3%.
