Abstract:
An investigation was made of the spectral and time characteristics of lasers utilizing coumarin 7 (C7, C153, C30, 7-diethylamino-3(2'-benzoxazolyl)-coumarin, and C6 vapors mixed with buffer gases (~35 atm) and kept at 200 °C. The lasing efficiency in the region of 500 nm exceeded 6% and the threshold pump intensities were below 0.3 MW/cm2, so that it should be possible to construct efficient cw and pulsed tunable gas lasers emitting in the blue-green part of the spectrum.
