Lithium fluoride color center laser with an output energy of 100 J

Abstract: A description is given of a laser utilizing color centers in a large volume LiF crystal pumped transversely by a neodymium laser. The energy characteristics of the radiation were determined in the range 1.12–1.16 μ. Conversion of the pump energy into useful radiation was studied for different LiF:F2 crystals.
