Abstract:
A fundamentally new type of functional element is proposed for an optoelectronic-digital converter. This element is based on a multilayer thin phase hologram. This element can be used to control the ratio of the intensities of beams of different orders formed as a result of diffraction of coherent radiation by a multilayer hologram and the angle of incidence of the reconstructing wave can be varied. Design calculations are reported of proposed functional elements utilizing two- and four-layer holograms. It is reported that an experimental system was constructed in which an electric analog signal was transformed into a five-bit binary word by an electrooptic deflector and a two-layer hologram.
