Abstract:
A description is provided of a laser with a hybrid pumping system, which made it possible to vary the emission spectrum of an optical flashlamp. The active element was a rod 6.3 mm in diameter and 100 mm long. The absolute efficiency was 4.5% when delivering an output power of 135 W. The use of a familiar method for correction of the divergence of laser radiation with the help of an initially unstable resonator made it possible to determine the angular brightness of the output radiation amounting to 150 MW/sr when the divergence was 0.6 mrad and the power was 80 W.
