Abstract:
An investigation was made of the luminescence and lasing spectra of a calcium lithium niobium gallium garnet crystal activated with chromium, thulium, and holmium ions. Kinetics of decay of the Cr3+ luminescence was investigated and it was concluded that energy transfer from the Cr3+ to the Òm3+ ions was efficient. An investigation was made of the lasing characteristics of this crystal (λl = 2.09 μm) under free-running conditions at room temperature.
