Abstract:
The temporal dynamics of the populations of the 3s levels of neon and its dependence on the hydrogen impurity concentration was studied in the active medium of a neon–hydrogen plasma laser excited by a longitudinal discharge with preionization. The limits of existence of the inversion of the λ = 585.3 nm transition were determined and population inversion was observed for new 3p–3s transitions in the neon atom at λ = 588.1, 594.4, 650.6, and 653.2 nm.
