Transformation of temporal coherence under the influence of wind refraction of randomly modulated laser radiation

Abstract: The method of successive approximations is used to study the thermal self-interaction (thermal blooming) of pulsed and quasi-cw radiations modulated randomly in time in a moving medium. An analysis is made of the dynamics of changes in the pulse duration and coherence time, and it is shown that the longitudinal mode structure of a pulse deteriorates in focusing and defocusing media.
