Abstract:
The specklon theory methods are used to calculate the diffraction efficiency and intramodulation noise of volume holograms of speckle fields allowing for saturation of the photoresponse. It is shown that 100% diffraction efficiency can be achieved if the depth of the light-induced phase modulation of the reconstructing wave is at least 10 rad. Saturation of the photoresponse reduces the relative level of the noise if the ratio of the intensities of the object and reference waves used in recording a hologram is less than 0.5.
