Abstract:
Picosecond light pulses were generated at frequencies up to 10 Hz using a KY(WO4)2:Nd3+ crystal as the active medium. The duration of a single pulse was measured to be τ = 10 psec and the width of the emission spectrum was Δν = 1.8 cm–1 . Emission of fundamental-frequency radiation was accompanied by stimulated Raman scattering in the active medium.
