Dynamics of light-induced separation of gases

An investigation was made of the time dependence of light-induced separation of a mixture of isotopic modifications of ¹³CH₃F–¹²CH₃F molecules formed as a result of vibrational excitation of CH₃F molecules by CO₂ laser radiation. Measurements were made in a wide range of gas pressures. The experimental results are compared with the theory of the effect.
