Energy and spectral characteristics of a pulse-periodic NH3 laser

Abstract: An investigation was made of the characteristics of radiation from a pulse-periodic NH3 laser with resonant optical pumping. An average radiation power of 60 W was achieved for a pulse energy of 0.5 J and a pump pulse conversion efficiency of ~20%. The frequency was tunable in the range 753–980 cm–1 .
