Photodissociation of some perfluoroalkyl iodides in the vaccum ultraviolet part of the spectrum

A determination was made of the absorption spectrum of (CF₃)₃CL (λ ≥ 125 nm) and of the spectral dependences of the absolute quantum yields of the I (²P_1/2) and I ( ²P_3/2 ) atoms in the photolysis of CF₃I, C₃F₇I, CF₃CFICF₃, and (CF₃)₃CI in the vacuum-ultraviolet part of the spectrum (λ ≥155 nm). The mechanism of decay of the excited states of these iodides was analyzed.
