Effects of laser radiation of different wavelengths on an obstacle in vacuum

Abstract: An analysis is made of the effects of monochromatic radiation with different photon energies on an aluminum obstacle in vacuum. Allowance is made for lateral expansion of the resultant plasma. It is shown that under steady-state conditions the dependences of the plasma parameters on the laser radiation wavelength are relatively weak and nonmonotonic.
