Electrodiffusion of Cs+ ions into glass from molten CsNO3. Planar waveguides

Abstract: A new method for electrodiffusion of Cs+ ions from molten CsNO3 into glass was developed. A study was made of the dependences of the parameters of the refractive index profile of planar waveguides on the conditions during diffusion. These waveguides were characterized by low losses (less than 0.2 dB/cm) in a wide spectral range and they were stable under heating to 300 °C.
