Abstract: Pulsed solid-state lasers have been developed utilizing a gadolinium scandium aluminum garnet crystal activated with chromium and neodymium (GSAG:Cr3:Nd3+ ) operated under conditions of high average power and high pulse repetition frequency. An efficiency of 4.2% and a specific average output power of 60 W/cm3 were achieved with an average lasing power of approximately 100 W. By using distributed phototropic centers, it is possible to combine these parameters under self-Q-switching conditions with a peak lasing power of 0.1 MW. A resonator with a correction for the thermooptic lens can give an angular brightness of up to 2 MW/sr with a peak brightness of up to 10 GW/sr.
