Physical phenomena in the generation and amplification laser

Investigation of elementary stages of the CF3 + I + M → CF3I + M recombination process using an iodine photodissociation laser

S. V. Kuznetsova, A. I. Maslov

Abstract: Measurements were made of the rate constant of the CF3 + I + M→CF3I + M recombination process as a function of the pressure of various buffer gases (M = Xe, SF6, CF3I, C5F12). An analysis was made of a method of measuring the recombination rate constants for perfluoroalkyl radicals using an iodine laser developed previously and improved in the present study. The main parameters of the elementary stages of the recombination process involving CF3 radicals and ground-state iodine atoms were determined from the dependences k( [M] ) using formulas from the simplified theory of monomolecular decay.
