Abstract:
An analysis is made of second harmonic generation in planar titanium-diffused LiNbO3 waveguides in order to select the optimum waveguide parameters. Calculations are made of the phase-matching angles, overlap integrals of the interacting modes, and permissible fluctuations of the waveguide depth as a function of the refractive index increment and the waveguide depth. Calculations are also made of the dependences of these waveguide parameters on the diffusion time and thickness of the deposited titanium film.
