Abstract: An optoacoustic method was used to detect kinetic cooling of air due to absorption of CO2 laser radiation pulses. An increase in the degree of cooling was observed on reduction in the absolute humidity of air. The conditions for detection of this effect in a real atmosphere were formulated.
