Characteristics of a transverse-flow carbon dioxide laser operated as an amplifier

Abstract: A theoretical investigation is made of the amplification in a transverse-flow CO2 laser. It is shown that the energy efficiency of a laser system with a multipass amplifier may be higher than the efficiency under oscillation conditions.
