Abstract:
An investigation was made of the characteristics of a POCl3 + SnCl4 + Nd3+ inorganic liquid laser. These characteristics were compared with those of a neodymium-glass laser. The specific output energy obtained was ~6 J/cm3. An investigation was made of the spectral composition of the radiation. The gain cross section at the frequency of the laser transition and the nonresonant losses were determined experimentally.
