Nonlinear optics

Highly sensitive phase-conjugate mirrors with a large number of resolution elements and their potential applications in projection optics

O. V. Kulagin, G. A. Pasmanik, A. A. Shilov

Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of the possibility of using highly sensitive phase-conjugate mirrors with high reflection coefficients as amplifiers of optical radiation transferring an image of an illuminated object. The requirements which have to be satisfied by such mirrors are formulated. A study is made of the principal characteristics of the mirrors including the angle of view, the number of elements resolved in the field of view, and the ultimate sensitivity.
