Lasing of holmium ions as a result of the 5I7→5I8 transition at room temperature in an yttrium scandium gallium garnet crystal activated with chromium, thulium, and holmium ions
Abstract:
An yttrium scandium gallium garnet crystal activated with chromium, thulium, and holmium ions was found to emit stimulated radiation and different types of active particles had a different role to play in the process. In the case of the 5I7→5I8 transition in Ho3+ at room temperature the output laser radiation energy was 4J.
