Use of a semiconductor injection laser for intracavity absorption spectroscopy

Abstract: A semiconductor injection laser operating in the pulsed regime at room temperature was used as part of a composite resonator system. A diffraction grating formed one of the resonator mirrors which permitted the radiation spectrum to be tuned over a wide wavelength range. A study was made of the competition between the laser modes and the resonator emission lines.
