Abstract:
An experimental determination was made of the maximum permissible, from the point of view of safety, exposure HMPE of the human eye to single laser pulses of 1.54 μ wavelength. For pulses of τ = 40 nsec duration the value of this exposure, measured in terms of the energy density, was HMPE=0.16 J/cm2 and for τ = 10–3 sec pulses it was HMPE=0.3 J/cm2.
