Investigation of stimulated Raman scattering excited by picosecond light pulses

An investigation was made of the characteristics of stimulated Raman scattering obtained by varying the ratio of the duration of the exciting pulses τ_e to the relaxation time of molecular vibrations T₂. Some characteristic features of the scattering were observed for the first time in the range τ_e≈2 psec << T₂.
