Control of the delay between radiation pulses emitted by a two-frequency CO2 laser

A demonstration is reported of the feasibility of controlling the delay between radiation pulses emitted by a two-frequency CO₂ laser. This can be done by establishing a negative feedback in the laser resonator at the frequency of the first radiation pulse by a passive Q switch with an activated absorber.
