Abstract:
Adaptive reconstruction of images using noncoherent light was analyzed and investigated experimentally. A phase transparency based on an MIS–liquid crystal structure, controlled by an array of light-emitting diodes, was used as the adaptive device. An algorithm maximizing the modulus of the spatial Fourier spectrum of an image at a specific frequency made it possible to reconstruct satisfactorily an image of a small object viewed across a phase-distorting medium.
