Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of the dependences of the lasing threshold, power, and spectrum on the thickness of a crystal, reflection coefficients of the resonator mirrors, and rate of scanning with an electron beam. The reasons for catastrophic degradation of laser screens at 300 °K were analyzed. Estimates were obtained of the maximum power and optimum diameter of the electron beam for a CdS laser screen operating as a television raster at 300 °K.
