Abstract:
A description is given of a sealed scanning semiconductor laser pumped transversely by an electron beam. This laser operates quasicontinuously under standard conditions of television line scanning. Information is given on the semiconductor target material, electron-optical part of the system, construction of the system, and such parameters as the electron energy, electron beam current, and average coherent radiation power. It is pointed out that this laser can be used, in principle, in projection television systems.
