Abstract:
The problem of the excitation of a nonlinear oscillator by a monochromatic external force allowing for decay of the states, which is expressed as nonconservation of the Ψ function norm and describes transitions to other modes and molecular dissociation, is solved outside the scope of the perturbation theory. The solved problem is used as the basis for a model of radiative (collisionless) dissociation of polyatomic molecules which allows for rotation and can be used to calculate the dissociation probability analytically. The dependences of the dissociation probability on the laser radiation frequency ωl, and intensity I are obtained and these show good agreement with the experimental data.
