Abstract:
A theoretical study is made of the influence of laser parameters on the gain of stimulated enthalpy scattering of light by ultrasound in the active media of iodine photodissociation lasers. It is shown that there is a range of intensities of the exciting laser radiation in which an increase in this intensity results in a rapid fall of the gain. Variation of the laser-transition cross section can shift this range and the gain can be varied within wide limits. The results obtained suggest that this can be used to ensure a high directionality of the radiation emitted by high-power lasers.
