Abstract:
An investigation was made of the characteristics of a pulse-periodic LGI-505 nitrogen laser excited longitudinally at pulse repetition frequencies f up to 1 kHz in a sealed discharge tube (peak power 10–20 kW, average power up to 90 mW). Data are presented on the dependences of the peak power and of the power instability on f. The optimal nitrogen pressure dynamic range was determined. The minimum power instability (2.5%) of the laser radiation was obtained for f = 500 Hz at a pressure of 2.4 kPa.
