Abstract:
It is shown that parametrically coupled dark and bright optical solitons can form as a result of stimulated four-photon parametric processes in fiber waveguides. The generation of pulses in such processes is unstable if the phase matching is incomplete. An investigation of the role of these processes in the generation of higher Stokes components of stimulated Raman scattering is reported. It is shown that stimulated four-photon parametric processes provide an opportunity for controlling generation of Raman solitons.
