Relaxation oscillations of the intensity of radiation from a two-micron thulium laser

Abstract: Analytic expressions are derived for the frequency and for the decay decrement of relaxation oscillations of the intensity of λ = 2 μm radiation from a thulium laser. Numerical estimates of these two parameters are obtained for a Tm3+ : YSGG crystal laser.
