Abstract:
Results are presented of an investigation of stimulated emission from the XeCl* molecule excited by an electron beam. Determinations were made of the influence of the pump density, mixture composition and pressure, and of the type of buffer gas (He, Ne, Ar, Kr) and chlorine carrier (CCl4, CHCl3, CF2Cl2) on the radiation energy and pulse duration, and also on the delay of the radiation pulse relative to the electron beam current. A radiation power of 11 MW and a specific radiation energy of ~10 J/liter were obtained. An analysis was made of the formation mechanism of XeCl* molecules.
