Investigation of the possibilities for improving the efficiency of disk amplifiers

Abstract: Stored energy density distributions over the thickness of GLS1 and GLS21 glass disks were obtained experimentally. The dependences of the relative pump energy absorbed by the disks on the product of the disk thickness and the neodymium ion concentration were constructed. Estimates were made of the effect of the disk thickness and neodymium ion concentration on the efficiency of disk amplifiers.
