Injection laser with a waveguide lens

Abstract: An injection laser with an integrated optical lens was proposed and investigated. The lens was formed by etching a circular recess in the upper emitter layer. A constriction in the laser field distribution indicated generation of diverging waves, typical of unstable resonators.
