Experimental observation of the self-switching of radiation in tunnel-coupled optical waveguides

Abstract: The phenomenon of self-switching of radiation in tunnel-coupled optical waveguides with two glass fiber waveguide cores was experimentally detected for the first time. The experiment was in agreement with theory. The results confirmed feasibility of constructing an optical transistor utilizing tunnel-coupled optical waveguides.
