Abstract:
Multimode graded fiber waveguides were formed from a three-component glass (Ge, P):SiO2 with the dispersion optimized simultaneously at two wavelengths of 0.85 and 1.3 µ. Optimization of the parameters of the MCVD process and their correction on the basis of the results of measurements of differential mode delays in fiber waveguides increased the average bandwidth-duration product up to 0.9 GHz·km at the wavelength of 0.85 µ and up to 1 GHz·km at 1.3 µ.
