Abstract:
A study was made of the spectral and energy characteristics of lithium fluoride lasers with F2 and F3+ color centers subjected to transverse and longitudinal pumping. Experiments demonstrated the feasibility of stable narrow-band emission in the range 510–570 nm when a selective resonator was used. A study was made of the influence of the treatment of lithium fluoride crystals containing F2 and F3+ color centers with 308 nm radiation from an excimer laser on the spectroscopic and lasing characteristics of the F3+ color centers. This treatment increased the efficiency of the laser in the green part of the spectrum by a factor exceeding 2 (and the efficiency then reached 14%).
